Our research group is supporting a number of research projects which are providing training for young researchers. These can be Ph.D. students, Master by Research students and also external postgraduate students who come for an extended visit.
We have a good number of problems which can provide the basis for a Ph.D./M.Sc.R. training related to the areas of Intelligent Environments, Ambient Intelligence, Ubiquitous and Pervasive computing, Internet of Things, Wearable Computing, Affective Computing, Context-Awareness, etc. These projects range from the use of formal theories to improve the understanding of systems in the areas above to the creation of innovation at a more applied level.
Our area of research is very multidisciplinary and we welcome aspirational researchers with different backgrounds: typically Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction.
If you are interested in training as a researcher with us please send us an email to discuss potential topics for research.
Bear in mind we do not provide funding. You need to have secured or be in the process to secure funding to start this process. If you have funding there are three times in the year where we can propose your project to our school so it is better to contact us as soon as possible to have time to prepare all the necessary paperwork in time for the submission deadlines and for your convenience.
